My Home is my Castle

In this series I am working on sculptures of houses in all imaginable unstable or highly precarious situations.

Houses with round, rocking floors, houses on the edge of cliffs on crumbling rock massifs, as in some old Etruscan cities in Tuscany and Lazio, houses on wheels, ready to leave their location at any time.

What remains of the idea of the security of our own four walls, our own personal "castle", which in our minds the house stands for, when our supposedly safe place of retreat loses its stability or keeps permanently changing its location?
