Some time ago I started to create additional flower sculptures in addition to my sculpture for the ArtArmor project, with the aim of auctioning them off and donating the proceeds to Ukraine.
Now that the USA has elected a president, Trump, from whom nothing good can be expected for Ukraine, I think this is more important than ever.
I had hoped to finish my marble flowers more quickly. But as is often the case with my sculptures, the amount of work involved was much greater than I would have liked.
Unfortunately, this also applies to my small-format sculptures. It takes a lot of work and patience to create a delicate and transparent marble flower, even if you don't have to remove a lot of material.
You just can't work quickly with rough tools, everything has to be done very finely and carefully.
In this post you can see the first marble flowers. I'm working on more at the moment and will present them as soon as I'm finished with one.
Based on the current political situation, I am convinced that we, each and every one of us, must do more to support Ukraine and, ultimately, our freedom.
I have therefore decided to make another marble flower every month in favor of Ukraine.
